Artists in Discussion:  SAA Squared

Reverie – Madeline Bajracharya

Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 2-4 pm

The contemporary art world has seen an explosion in the use of fiber and textiles.  Fine artists are moving into fiber art because it expands and explores new media artists are able to incorporate into their art.  At the same time, art quilters are moving from their traditional roots towards a fine arts perspective.  SAA Squared gives the viewer a compelling introduction to some of the newest work in this growing field.

Please join co-curators Connie Rohman and Kathy Mas-Gallegos, along with the following SAA Squared artists for an informative discussion on the various processes, techniques used, and aesthetics of fiber art.

Jennette Kelly, Deborah Thomas, Susane Krevitt, Raoul De La Sota, Sandra Lauterbach, Dellis Frank, Diane Nunez, Karen Valderrama, Madeleine Bajracharya, Georgia Freedman-Harvey, Sally Gould Wright, Cidne Hart, Heather Hoggan, and Binah Waite-Williams
