Pasadena, CA - Consejo Fronterizo de Arte y Cultura (COFAC)/ Border Council
of Arts and Culture, will hold their transnational "One, Un, One" Fundraiser
at The Annex at The Avenue 50 Studio, Inc, 131 N. Avenue 50 in Highland
Park on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (www.avenue50studio.com).
There is an opportunity for an early-bird preview sale on Saturday March
27, between 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
These 4" x 7" original works are luxuriously framed 8" x
11," and were created and donated to COFAC by well-known artists,
for example, in Los Angeles County: Roberto Delgado, Ernesto De La Loza,
Dan McCleary, Miguel Angel Murillo, and Francesco Siqueiros; San Diego
County: Ricardo Duffey, Becky Guttin, Kathy Kenyon, Jose Lobo, and Raul
Trejo; and Tijuana, B.C., Mexico: Tania Candiani, Luis Juan Garzón
Masabó, Julio Orozco, Jaime Ruiz Otis, and Roberto Rosique. Each
piece is custom framed and matted to compliment the art. Over 125 works
of art is affordably priced at $200 each. The artwork was selected by artist
and curator Luis Ituarte, COFAC Director.
Funds raised will be used to support the programs and projects of COFAC,
a 501(c) transnational art and culture organization based in Pasadena
and in Tijuana at their La Casa del Tunel: Art Center. COFAC continues
its long-standing partnership with Kathy Gallegos, Founder and Director
of The Avenue 50 Studio to travel their recent exhibit "Body Language" to
Tijuana June 5-26, 2010. Presently, COFAC is collaborating with Avenue
50 and artists from Los Angeles and Tijuana on a two-year art intervention
project in both locations. COFAC is grateful to The Avenue 50 Studio
for their unwavering support and for providing COFAC the space to hold
its first fundraiser in 2004, which was an amazing success with standing
