An Invitation to Join us on our Next Collectors Tour

The Collection of Jim and Gwen Beazell

The Beazell collection of artifacts from world cultures is an amazing treasure that mirrors the owner’s passion for travel and collecting.  Both are University Professors, one teaching Child Development and the other Biological Sciences.

Their lovely home in Rancho Palos Verdes is filled with folk masks, headdresses, garments, baby carriers and sculptures that present us with a visual and colorful map of their adventures abroad.  It is like walking into a museum but with the collectors eager to discuss many of the pieces as well as narrating their experiences in collecting the work.

The Beazell's have shown their collection exclusively to the Collectors Council of the Bowers Museum of Santa Ana and to the Southwest Museum Collectors Club.   They are also renowned chefs often creating ethnic meals that echo their cultural artifacts.  Their interest in the tribal arts reflects the varied makeup of their blended family with their children descendents of Chippewa, Apache, Arapaho and Karellan`Mongol (Finnish) ancestry.

Along with Native-American items there are often rare pieces from Afghanistan, Canada, China, Guatemala, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Thailand and Tibet.

A culinary delight whipped up by the Beazells will be part of our tour
