The Avenue 50 Studio is proud to present in the Annex Room, “Explain Yourself”, paintings by Frank Guiterierrez. Explain Yourself will have it’s opening night reception on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 7-10 pm.
Frank Gutierrez, known not only for autobiographical work, but for art that questions contemporary thinking, has produced a new series based on the fairy tale, Alice in Wonderland. Departing from his usual style, Gutierrez paints in a youthful, contemporary style using iconic imagery as a vehicle for his commentary. “Remember what the door mouse said, ‘feed your head’”.
