Monthly poetry event

This Week, Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 2-4 pm

Co-hosted by Laura Longoria & Don Newton

Featuring Mary Torregrossa

Originally from the smallest state in the Union, Mary Torregrossa makes her home in Baldwin Park with her husband and their two teenage daughters.  Along with her chapbook of early poems, "Sleeping With Roses,"  Mary has been published in the on-line magazines Rhode Island Roads and suddenprovidence.  Her poetry appears in print in the anthologies "Looking Out of Alhambra" and "Looking Out of Pasadena."  As an active member of the Emerging Urban Poets workshop, many of her poems have appeared in their various publications. In 2001, Mary was profiled in the L A Times newspaper.

She has been a featured reader, workshop leader, guest poet in classrooms, and currently co-facilitates the on-going Wednesday Critique at the Zephyr Coffeehouse with Don Kingfisher Campbell.  Her detailed, imagistic narratives engage the reader and the listener through meaningful storytelling.
