Trunk Show ~ Oxacan Wood Carved Animals

Jesus Sosa Calvo, master carver, is arriving from San Martin de Tilcajete, Oaxaca to Los Angeles this week. San Martin is one of two villages located outside Oaxaca City dedicated to wood carvings. The Avenue 50 Studio has invited Jesus to stop by Saturday, April 26 to sell a few of his beautiful wood carvings of cats. Trained as an electrician, Jesus started his wood carving career over twenty years ago when he became ill and was no longer able to work as an electrician. Previously, Jesus exhibited his work at the Southwest Museum and the Blackwolf Gallery in Atwater.
