Dreams and Visions at Play

Leo Limón, Tina Gulotta, Martin Charlot, Pamela Mower-Conner

When:                            Opening Reception:  Saturday, January 8, 2005, 7-10 p.m.

Where:              Avenue 50 Studio, 131 No. Avenue 50, Los Angeles, CA  90042

What:             The Avenue 50 Studio is pleased to announce an exhibition of dreamscape paintings by Los Angeles based artists Leo Limón, Tina Gulotta, Martin Charlot, and Pamela Mower-Conner.  Each artist possesses a distinct surreal, dreamscape style, making random sense out of seemingly disparate objects.  At times playful, the imaginativeness captured in these paintings is used to its fullest.

Leo Limón graces us with a magical theater of mezoamerican cosmic symbols.  Rich in narrative, each piece tells a story of the “world we live in and the spiritual world that surrounds us”.

As a symbolist, Tina Gulotta explores the world through the eyes of a poet.  Dark and mysterious, Tina’s work invites us to step closer and be involved.

Martin Charlot paints a dream world where fantasy figures playfully frolic in a soothing atmosphere of soft colors in jungle-like settings.  His rendering of water and earth beckon us towards regeneration.

Pamela Mower-Conner’s intuitive paintings are “always looking for the secret language of nature, the hieroglyphics of a cosmic order in dried leaves, the rhythm of branches or the patterns of cracks in rocks.”

We feel privileged to present these four very imaginative artists in our exhibit entitled, “Profound Passages -- Dreams and Visions at Play”.

Dates of Exhibition:                     January 8 through February 6, 2005
